ProsperUS Detroit

New Solutions Group has partnered with Southwest Housing Solutions, Global Detroit, the Neighborhood Development Center of Minneapolis/St. Paul, and several Detroit neighborhood and micro-enterprise organizations to develop ProsperUS Detroit, an entrepreneurial training and microlending program for Detroit residents. ProsperUS aims to help establish at least 70 new minority-owned businesses in the city. By helping emerging entrepreneurs develop successful businesses, ProsperUS will help strengthen neighborhood economies, create jobs, serve residents with new goods and services, and cultivate community-based leadership.

The entrepreneur training program is designed for residents in designated neighborhoods seeking to start or expand a small business in one of the three target neighborhoods. Applicants meeting these criteria receive the training at a discounted cost, depending on their income level.
