Michigan Future Schools is a program of Michigan Future, Inc., a non-partisan think tank based in Ann Arbor and led by President Lou Glazer. MFS is an “accelerator” that provides support—financial and capacity-building—to new open-enrollment high schools in Detroit that are committed to ensuring their students earn a college degree. MFS has helped to open five schools as of fall 2012, with additional schools expected to open in 2013. New Solutions Partner Sarah Szurpicki serves as the Strategic Development Manager for MFS. She provides coordination, evaluation, and reporting support, as well as strategic thought around advocacy and improving program efficacy.
